Meet Our Staff

Our Vet is Dr Mina Ghaly B.V.Sc Dip Microbiology who has years of experience with small animals as well as large animals including horses and cattle. Dr Mina is very passionate about the health and wellbeing of your pets. He stays up to date with the latest and safest treatment options for pets and works hard to provide the best possible outcome for both the client and the patient.

We have two Practice Manager’s here at Hornsby Heights Vet Hospital, Mary Salib who is also a Registered Physiotherapist. She is very committed to providing a warm and welcoming environment for our clients and their patients. Mary is very compassionate about the welbeing of our clients as well as their pets. Tatum is a dedicated qualified Vet Nurse, who strives to make everyone feel heard and comfortable. She also has a strong love for daschunds and owns one named Dotti.

Another familiar face at HHVH is Briony, who you will see on reception on the later days during the week. She has one Taco Terrier called Mimi, but loves any furry face that walks through our front doors. She has a very keen interest in farm work and loves to accompany Dr Mina to his farm visits when he exams horses, cattle, sheep, etc.

Kyla is our surgical nurse & social media superstar. Nurse Kyla has a strong passion for all surgical procedure and enjoys the organised chaos that comes with day-to-day vet clinic life. Kyla has a keen-interest and furthering her studies and always up-to-date with new information and how we can in-coporate it.

Steph, has been apart of our team for over 5 years now, having previously completed a Bachelor of Science (Zoology) before coming over to study veterinary nursing. She has one Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Louie; one white Domestic Short Hair cat, Lucrezia. Steph enjoys seeing all the different patients that walk through our front doors.

Our up and coming nurse Rowena has a keen interest in surgical procedures, though, is a clinic allrounder, so you may see her at anytime during your visit. She owns a border collie called Molly, who she has trained in agility and scent work. Rowena enjoys interacting with all species and is always putting a smile on everyones face.

Annika is a friendly face that you will see around our reception area. Annika is also our queen of puppy school. Annika owns a Kelpie named Arya, who is training in scent detection and tracking – and acing it. She is top of the class. Annika is also teaching Arya talking buttons and “learning to talk”, so far Arya loves to request playtime outside.

We also want to dedicate a massive thanks to our current students here at Hornsby Heights – Thea, Ella, Leah and Sarah. We appreciate all the hard work they do and are happy we can support them on their way to becoming veterinary nurses.
